TRI INVESTMENTS’ LAUNCHES ASIAN REAL ESTATE FUND   14/04/2008

TRI Investments, a retail and institutional investment boutique, is launching an Asian Real Estate Fund, offering investors exposure to the fast-growing Asian residential and commercial property development markets.

Investment adviser to the Fund is Doran Capital Partners who are one of the leading Real Estate investment managers in the region.

The Fund will invest directly or indirectly in a portfolio of Asian commercial and residential properties, located principally within South Korea, North East China and Japan. The Fund is targeting returns in excess of 10% per annum measured over rolling five year periods, net of all fund expenses.

TRI feels that the launch of this new fund will offer investors an attractive investment diversification tool. Chris Finch, CEO of TRI Investments, said: “Given the significant levels of volatility we are seeing within investment markets generally the inclusion of a lowly correlated Fund within a properly diversified portfolio will help manage risk whilst bolster returns. Asia – Pacific real estate has shown excellent investment potential in recent years and we expect this to continue. Korea and China have particularly proven to be the key contributors to Asia-Pacific economic growth and by including Japan we expect the combination to provide the right balance between risk and return.”

The economies of Asia-Pacific have been amongst the main drivers of the World economy in recent years and TRI feels that the desire from local inhabitants to build a higher standard of life for themselves shows few signs of slowing. Chris Finch said: “By partnering with local developers we are able to enhance Fund returns by investing in early stage projects. We will focus activity on urban markets and look to resell property to the local market. With some 60% of China’s GDP generated within some 200 miles of its NE coast and some 1.5bn people located within the yellow sea economic basis there is a huge appetite for new property development in the region. Doran has offices throughout the region and has been investing in Korea for 20 years now so the Fund will be able to leverage their extensive network of local connections”

The Fund is FSA authorised, daily priced and dealt and offers good levels of liquidity. The minimum investment for the Fund is £5,000 for retail investors and £2m for institutional investors, or the Euro equivalent. There is an annual management charge of 1.95% for retail and 1.45 % for institutional clients. There is also an initial charge of 5 % for retail and 0 % for institutional. Commission is 3 % initial and 0.5% p.a. renewal. Denomination is in both Sterling and Euro.
